5. Refer to Figure 4-44. For the particular belt being replaced, loosen the shoulder bolt
holding the idler pulley in position until the pulley freely moves up and down.
6. Remove the main drive belt and/or rewind spindle drive belt and install the new one.
7. Hook a 2200 gram spring scale to the new main drive or rewind spindle drive belt,
dependant on which one is being replaced/adjusted, and carefully pull up on the
idler pulley to increase belt tension.
8. Main Drive Belt Adjustment. When a scale reading of 900 grams (± 225 grams)
creates a deflection of ¼" (6.4 mm), tighten the shoulder bolt.
9. Rewind Spindle Drive Belt Adjustment. When a scale reading of 1800 grams (±
225 grams) creates a deflection of ¼" (6.4 mm), tighten the shoulder bolt.
10. Reinstall the media sensor assembly, main logic board, main door, and rear cover.
11. Reload media and ribbon.
12. Reconnect the AC power cord and data cable. Turn the printer On (l), and test for
proper operation.
