3. Use a cleaning swab and wipe the print elements from end to end. The print elements
are the grayish/black strip just behind the chrome strip on the underside of the
printhead. Allow a few seconds for the solvent to evaporate.
4. Rotate the platen roller and clean thoroughly with solvent and an applicator.
5. Brush or vacuum any accumulated paper lint and dust away from the rollers and the
media and ribbon sensors.
6. Reload ribbon and/or media, close and latch the printhead, restore power, if necessary,
and run the PAUSE Key Self Test to check print quality.

Clean the snap plate to remove label adhesive or a label that has adhered to the underside of
the snap plate.
1. Insert a small-blade screwdriver or similar tool into the loop on the left side of the snap
plate. Lift the snap plate. See Figure 4-2.
2. Repeat step one on the right side of the snap plate.
3. Remove the snap plate from the printer.
4. Clean the snap plate with cleaning solvent and a soft cloth.

CAUTION:
WHEN HANDLING THE SNAP PLATE USE CARE NOT TO BEND, TWIST
OR DEFORM THE LOOPS. IF THE SNAP PLATE IS DAMAGED IT WILL
NEED TO BE REPLACED.
