Troubleshooting the Single Bay USB Cradle
Symptom Possible Cause Action
ES400 battery is not
charging.
ES400 was
removed from
cradle or cradle
was unplugged
from AC power too
soon.
Ensure cradle is receiving power. Ensure ES400 is seated
correctly. Confirm main battery is charging under
Start > Settings
>
System > Power. The 1500 mAh battery fully charges in less than
three hours and the 3000 mAh battery fully charges in less than six
hours.
Battery is faulty. Verify that other batteries charge properly. If so, replace the faulty
battery.
No power to cradle. Ensure that power is applied to the cradle. The Battery Status LED
flashes amber to indicate that the ES400 is charging.
The ES400 is not
fully seated in the
cradle.
Remove and re-insert the ES400 onto the cradle properly.
Extreme battery
temperature.
Battery does not charge if ambient temperature is below 0°C
(32°F) or above 40°C (104°F).
Single Slot USB
Cradle is not
functioning
properly.
Replace the Single Slot USB Cradle.
During data
communication, no
data transmits, or
transmitted data was
incomplete.
ES400 removed
from cradle during
communications.
Replace ES400 in cradle and retransmit.
Communication
software is not
installed or
configured properly.
Perform setup as described in the ES400 Enterprise Smart Phone
Integrator Guide.

Ensure the power input cable is securely connected to the cradle’s
power port.
