Backlight and Keylight Settings
The Display brightness automatic/manual setting shall provide the ability to automatically detect the brightness in a
specific environment.
Tap Start > Settings > System > Backlight & Keylight icon.

Battery Power Tab
Use the Battery Power tab to set the backlight and keylight settings when the ES400 is on battery power.
Display Time-out
Sets the time of inactivity before the screen backlight turns off. select between 10 sec., 30 sec., 1 Min. (default), 3
min. and Off.
Display On
Set the display to turn on upon a key or screen touch. Toggle between Touch only and Any input (default).
Display Brightness
Sets the brightness of the display.
Keylight Time-out
Sets the time of inactivity before the screen keylight turns off. Select between 10 Sec., 30 Sec., 1 Min., 3 Min., Off,
Follow display (Default).
Keylight On
Set the keylight to turn on upon a key or screen touch. Select between Keylight on: Toggle- Touch Only, Any Input
(Default). Keylight on is disabled if Keylight time-out is Off. “Touch only” shall be any action/touch of the touch
screen; “Any input” shall be either touching the screen, or pressing any key (keypad or side keys).
External Power Tab
Use the External Power tab to set the backlight and keylight settings when the ES400 is on external power.
