Setting up POS
Small to medium store
Accounts and POS Administrator need to be installed on the same computer. We therefore recommend that you
install these two applications on a back o ce PC and install POS Terminal on your front terminal. With the two
computers linked together through a network, POS Administrator can send and receive data from each component.
This con guration is ideal for a small to medium store. It has the advantage of separating the back o ce and sales
functions of the business. It keeps sales sta separate from the accounts and administration and ensures that the
POS terminal is always available to serve customers.
It is also a good practice to have the POS database installed on POS Terminal so that the back o ce computer does
not need to be running for the terminal to process sales.
The speci cations are the same for each computer in a two-computer setup as those for a one-
computer setup. You do not need POS peripherals (cash drawer, scanner etc) for the back o ce
machine.
Large store
You can set up POS as a multi-user application. Your organisation can have as many POS terminals as you need to
