Working with POS Terminal
Function key Description
Hold Transaction Allows the operator to pause the transaction. Click Hold Transaction to return the held transaction (and
hold the current one if necessary). Only one transaction can be placed on hold at the one time for each
terminal.
Layby Account Indicates that the sale to follow is a layby. Also use to display a list of all Layby Customers, add a new or
edit an existing Layby Customer, or select a current layby to make a payment.

Allows the entry of an amount to be applied to a layby account.
Lock Terminal Locks the terminal and protects the cash drawer from theft. This function toggles between locked and
unlocked states. This key disables sales processing when it is turned on and does not allow the cash
drawer to be opened via the No Sale function key. Alternately, if the Act as logon/logo option is
selected, the key logs o the current user, or bring up the logon window if there is no user currently
logged on.
Manager Override Prevents unauthorised access to several POS Terminal functions by requiring a password before use.
The Manager Override key must be selected before these functions can be activated. Alternatively, set
up a Global Manager Password in POS Administrator by going to Tools menu and clicking Options and
clicking the Security tab.
Memo Entry Allows you to record special comments within a transaction. For example. you can make a customer
aware that the goods purchased were damaged at the time of sale. Print it on the receipt for warranty or
nilreturn purposes. The memo is also stored with the transaction within Accounts.
Menus Allows access to the POS Terminal menu without a mouse. If POS Terminal loses focus for any reason
such as a printer error message pressing Menus makes POS Terminal the active program again.
No/Cancel Cancels choices without the use of a mouse by pressing No/Cancel. This function is required by POS
Terminal and appears in both standard and POS Terminal default keyboards.
No Sale Opens the cash drawer without recording a sale.
