Note: In writing recognition, you can handwrite a short cross line which will be recognized by the phone as Delete, equal
to [].
In writing recognition, you can drag a character written by the handwriting pen to Copy, Paste or Delete through the right
click menu.
Keypad Input Methods
Keypad input methods include T9 Pinyin input, T9 stroke input, number input, T9 letter input, stroke input and traditional
Chinese input. Press * key to switch from one input method to another.
Barcode Label
The barcode label contains importation information on services and customer support. Please take good care of the
label.
Codes
Lock Code
Prevent your phone from being used by the others without your permission. Switch on the phone lock function, and then
phone code will be required for opening the phone and entering some menus.
PIN and PIN2 Codes
The PIN (personal identification number) code can prevent your SIM card from being used by the others without your permission. The
code is usually supplied with the SIM card.
The PIN2 code is required when entering some functions. The code may be supplied with the SIM card.
To set the PIN and PIN2 codes, please see Settings > Security setting (Page 33).
PUK and PUK2 Codes
To change the blocked PIN code, a PUK (personal unlocking key) code is required.
To change the blocked PIN2 code, a PUK2 code is required.
If the two codes are not supplied with the SIM card, please contact the local service provider for the codes.
Lock and Unlock the Phone
There are two ways to lock the phone as follows:
Automatic
In the case of no new event or operation within the sleeping mode clock of the screen that has been configured in
Settings > Phone setting, keypad and screen of the phone will be locked automatically. Press the Lock key on the top of
the phone to unlock.
Manual
Press the Lock key on the top of the phone to lock the keypad and screen; press again to unlock.
