ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 2961 – CUT AND MOVE STEP 1. Attach the 2961-200 Coulter Bracket to the planter row unit, using three ½” x 1-1/2” bolts, flat washer, and lock nuts. STEP 2. Attach the 2961-300 coulter arm adjustment plate to the coulter bracket using a 5/8” x 1-3/4” bolt, 5/8” x 4-1/2” bolt, 21/32” spacer bushing and lock nuts. STEP 3. Assemble the 5/8” x 3” d-bolt, 3/16” thick flat washer onto the hub/bearing.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 2961 – CUT AND MOVE STEP 4. Attach the blade/hub assembly to the coulter arm using the 5/8” x 3” D-bolt, lock washer and hex nut. Torque 150 ft.lbs. STEP 5. Laterally align blade with planter opener blades. Tighten bolts securing bracket to the planter. Torque to 80 ft. lbs.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 2961 – CUT AND MOVE STEP 6. NOTE: When assembling the residue manager wheel, hub cap and bearing hub; make right hand and left hand assemblies. Also, be sure the slot in the R.M. wheel is in alignment with small hole in bearing and the groove on inside of hub cap. Assemble the 5/8” x 4” d-bolt and 3/16 thick flat washer onto the bearing hub. Now attach the residue manager wheel and hub cap to the bearing hub using 4) 5/16” x 11/2” carriage bolts and lock nuts. STEP 7.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 2961 – CUT AND MOVE STEP 8. Install a ½” x 3-1/2” bolt into the lower rear hole of the 2961-200 coulter bracket and secure with lock nut. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN THE BOLT! STEP 9. The universal model that fits on JD 7200/1700 series planters can be mounted two ways (See Figure 1). The front set of holes is to mount these models on planter units with light duty or heavy duty cast lower parallel arms. The rear set of holes is for planter units with heavy-duty welded lower parallel arms.

Install the residue manager wheel/stem assembly onto the 2961-200 coulter bracket weldment and insert the 6100-321 adjustment pin through the parts and secure with 1/8” hairpin cotter. OPERATION PRECAUTIONS STOP!!! Read this before using the Yetter product.

OPERATION 1. Set/mount coulter blades to run perpendicular to the soil. Operation depth and blade wear can be affected if the coulter is mounted crooked or if the toolbar is not level side to side. 2. After a few hours of use, check all bolts for tightness and proper torque. 3. Adjust the residue manager to move crop residue aside and not move any soil. Adjustments to the residue manager may have to be made when changing field conditions and type and amount of residue. ROW CLEANER DO’S AND DON’TS 1.
MAINTENANCE BEARING ASSEMBLY AND LUBRICATION Practice Safety Understand and practice safe service procedures before doing work. Follow ALL the operating, maintenance and safety information in the equipment operator manual. Clear the area of bystanders, especially small children, when performing any maintenance or adjustments. Keep work area clean and dry. Use adequate lighting for the job. Use only tools, jacks and hoists of sufficient capacity for the job.
MAINTENANCE NOTE: Be certain to align the grease fitting with the slot in the wheel and the hubcap so that the grease can flow freely. IMPORTANT: THE 2527-530 WASHER MUST BE INSTALLED OR THE WHEEL AND HUB ASSEMBLY WILL FALL OFF DURING USE.
MAINTENANCE Grease must fill this Hubcap cavity.
MAINTENANCE Lubrication CAUTION: To help prevent serious injury or death to you or others caused by unexpected movement, service machine on a level surface. Lower machine to ground or sufficiently lock or block raised machine before servicing. If machine is connected to tractor, engage parking brake and place transmission in "PARK", shut off engine and remove key. If machine is detached from tractor, block wheels and use shop stands to prevent movement.
MAINTENANCE Lubrication Symbols Lubricate with grease at hourly interval indicated on symbol. Lubrication Intervals IMPORTANT: The recommended service intervals are based on normal conditions; severe or unusual conditions may require more frequent lubrication. Perform each lubrication and service procedure at the beginning and end of each season. Clean grease fittings before using grease gun, to avoid injecting dirt and grit into the bearing. Replace any lost or broken fittings immediately.
MAINTENANCE Storing the Equipment Store the machine in an area away from human activity Store machine in RAISED position. Install service locks on all wheel cylinders. At the end of the season, the machine should be thoroughly inspected and prepared for storage. Repair or replace any worn or damaged components to prevent down time at the start of the next season. Store machine under cover with all parts in operating condition.

TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Cannot adjust coulter depth shallow enough. Cause Solution Planter frame not set correctly. Ensure that in operation the planter frame is at correct height (20”-22”) and level. Planter opener blade worn. Replace planter opener blades. Cannot adjust coulter deep enough. Coulter blade worn too small. Replace coulter blade. Coulter will not penetrate. Lack of spring tension. Increase spring tension. Coulter penetrates too much. Excessive spring down pressure.
