Next to the „new modifier“ pull-down menu, the Flexible Modifier Editor also contains a „preset“
pull-down menu which allows you to load, copy and manage unlimited Modifier presets:
Beside the typical „save as“ option this „presets“ menu offers a lot more. Use the copy/paste option
to transfer all Modifier settings from your currently selected Layer to another Layer, Section or
Alternate without having to save your changes before.
There are two different types to load a Flexible Modifier preset:
• „append“: The selected preset gets ADDED to your current Flexible Modifier list.
• „replace“: The selected preset REPLACES ALL currently loaded Flexible Modifiers.
The „rebuild menu“ option refreshes the entire „preset“ list, so you do not have to restart
Independence if you copy or move preset files into the Independence Data folder on your hard disk
during your work.
TIP: If you regularly use an external MIDI controller with the Flexible Modifiers, you can
save all your settings as Modifier presets. Thus you do not have to create your basic
setup again and again anew.
External Sources
Independence contains the following External Sources:
Fix Value
The only entirely static Modifier of Independence that routes the incoming MIDI note-on commands
from your controller to the selected destination.
Velocity
The value of the selected Flexible Modifier destination is depending on the velocity value of the
incoming MIDI command.
Release Velocity
Only supported by a few MIDI controllers, mostly keyboards. The value of the selected Flexible
Modifier destination is depending on how fast you released the key of your keyboard.
