4. Press or to select Static from the IP Address Type field.
5. Enter the valid value in the IP Address, IPv6 Prefix, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and
Secondary DNS field respectively.
6. Press the Save soft key to accept the change.
The base station reboots automatically to make settings effective after a period of time.
Configuring Static DNS When DHCP is Enabled
Static DNS is not normally required when DHCP is enabled on your phone. In some cases, static
DNS may be needed in your environment. Then you can manually configure static DNS to
ignore DNS obtained from DHCP.
You can configure a static IPv4 DNS for the IP phone. Before configuring it, make sure that the IP
mode is configured as IPv4 or IPv4&IPv6.
To configure static IPv4 DNS manually via the handset:
1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Select Settings->System Settings->Network (default PIN: 0000) ->Basic.
3. Press to select IPv4, and then press the OK soft key.
4. Press or to select Manual from the DNS Type field when DHCP is selected from
the IP Address Type field.
5. Enter the valid value in the Primary DNS and Secondary DNS field respectively.
6. Press the Save soft key to accept the change or the Back soft key to cancel.

You can also configure a static IPv6 DNS for the IP phone. Before configuring it, make sure that
the IP mode is configured as IPv6 or IPv4&IPv6.
To configure static IPv6 DNS manually via the handset:
1. Press to enter the main menu.
2. Select Settings->System Settings->Network (default PIN: 0000) ->Basic.
3. Press to select IPv6, and then press the OK soft key.
4. Press or to select Manual from the DNS Type field when DHCP is selected from
the IP Address Type field.
5. Enter the valid value in the Primary DNS and Secondary DNS field respectively.
6. Press the Save soft key to accept the change or the Back soft key to cancel.
