Auger Belt Replacement
To removeand replaceyour snowthrower'saugerbelt,
proceedasfollows:
1. Removethe plasticbeltcoveronthe frontof the
engineby removingthe two self-tappingscrews. See
Figure6-4.

placea pieceof plasticunderthe gas cap.

Carefullypivotthe snowthrowerup andforwardso
thatit restson the augerhousing.Removethe frame
coverfromthe undersideof the snowthrowerby
removingfour self-tappingscrewswhichsecureit.

Rollthe augerbeltoff the enginepulley.SeeFigure
6-6.
a. Loosenand removethe shoulderscrewwhich
actsas a belt keeper.See Figure6-7.
b. Unhookthesupportbracketspringfromthe
frame.
Removethe beltfromaroundtheaugerpulley,and
slipthe beltbetweenthe supportbracketandthe
augerpulley.Reassembleaugerbelt by following
instructionsin reverseorder.SeeFigure6-8.
NOTE: Do NOTforgetto reinstallthe shoulderscrew
andreconnectthe springto the frameafterinstalling
a replacementaugerbeltandto removethe pieceof
plasticfromunderthe gascap.

NOTE: Although
multi-viscosity oils
(5W30, 10W30etc.)
improvestarting in cold
weather, these multi-
viscosity oils also result
in higher oil consump-
tion when usedabove
32°F (O°C).Check your
snowthrower's engine
oil level morefrequently
to avoid possible
engine damage from
running low on oil.
NOTE: Do not sand-
blast spark plug. Spark
plug should be cleaned
by scraping or wire
brushing and washing
with a commercial
solvent.
IMPORTANT
NEVER replacethe
auger shear pins with
standard pins. Any
damage to the auger
gearbox or othercom-
ponents as a result of
(Jong so, wil NOT be
covered byyoursnow
thrower's warranty.
