4. Remove the blade.
5. Replace with new blade from the manufacturer by reversing the above steps.
Note: Tighten the blade locknut to 35-45 foot-pounds (47-61 N-m)

A dirty air lter will restrict air intake. Regular maintenance of air cleaner will help
improve engine performance and reduce emissions.

Never clean air lter with gasoline or an easy ignited solvent because it
may cause explosion.
 Refer to Figure 12 when following the steps below:
1. Remove the air lter cover bolts.
2. Remove the air lter cover.
3. Carefully remove air lter element to
prevent dirt from falling into carburetor.
4. Clean all parts. Wash the air lter element
in a nonammable or high burning point
solvent, and allow to dry thoroughly; dip the
lter element in clean oil, and squeeze out
all excess oil.
5. Reinstall the air lter element.
6. Replace air lter cover and tighten cover
bolts.



Only use the recommended spark
plug or a spark plug with the same
temperature range. Using an improper
spark plug, an incorrect spark plug
gap, or a dirty/fouled spark plug can
reduce engine performance and cause
damage.
1. Stop engine and allow it to cool.
2. Remove spark plug wire from spark plug.
3. Use the spark plug wrench and rod
(included with edger) to remove the spark
plug. (See Figure 13)
