wATER fUEL SEPARATING fILTER
Keeping your fuel clean has and will always be an important issue
where boating is concerned. Contaminated fuel affects performance
and can increase the wear and tear on your engine. The trouble is,
millions of small dirt particles are already in the fuel before it gets
anywhere near your boat. That’s where Yamaha Water Separating Fuel
Filters come in. They are designed to be the most efcient systems
available for removing dirt before it enters the pumps and injection
system. Without one, dirty, unltered fuel could block your internal
fuel passages causing the engine to run poorly or even fail.
Instead of the standard 35/27-micron lter, the Yamaha 10-micron
lter will protect your engine by removing dirt, water and small
foreign particles. The superior Yamaha 10-micron lters are highly
recommended for all engines, especially HPDI models and EFI.
However, it’s important to choose a fuel lter with the right capacity
for your engine and regularly maintain it. If not, this could also affect
performance and damage the engine. A simple rule of thumb is to
ensure the litres-per-hour (LPH) of the lter is greater than that of
the engine. This gure can be found in your owner’s manual.
Remember, a lter that is too big or too good will not cause problems,
but one that is too small or too dirty can restrict fuel ow, possibly
resulting in engine failure.
THE SOLUTION fOR CORROSION
The entire body is made of plastic, so there is no danger of electric corrosion or rust developing.

fUEL TANKS
All fuel tanks are equipped with an automatic de-aeration system, a level gauge and paint-free
couplings. Our heavy-duty plastic fuel tanks are specially constructed for all conditions; safety
and durability have been given top priority, as have the fuel pipes between tank and motor.
The fuel lines and improved connectors are totally unaffected by oil and fuel, and maintain their
elasticity, even at lower temperatures. The permanently sealed version, with improved connectors,
provides even greater exibility and safety against fuel leakage.
The 5 and 10 litre high density polyethylene fuel cans are unbreakable and non-corroding.
The no-spill spout provides full control when refuelling, as fuel will not ow until the nozzle
is inserted into the fuel tank and gently pressed down.
