CHAPTER2 DeviceNet Unit
2-5-2 Setting MAC ID and communication speed
!
CAUTION
Always be sure to turn off power to the controller before attempting to make these
settings to prevent possible electrical shock. When making the settings, also be
sure not to touch any parts other than the DIP switch.
1) First, detach all connectors from the controller, and then remove the screws secur-
ing the controller unit and top cover (1 on top, 1 on the bottom, and 2 on the back (1
on the ERCX and SRCP/SRCD series controllers)). Then remove the top cover
from the controller unit.
2) Make the MAC ID and communication speed settings by changing the DIP switch
settings on the DeviceNet board. Communication speeds 500K, 250K, 125K (in
bps units) can be set with MAC ID #0 through #63 (see below). The communica-
tion speed must be set to match that of the master station.
Use switches No. 1 - 6 for the MAC ID settings. Use switches No. 7 and 8 for
setting the communication speed.
!
CAUTION
Move the switches so they are definitely at either the ON or OFF side. If the DIP
switches are in a neutral position, the controller might not operate normally.
Do not use a lot of force when moving the switches. The switches will deteriorate
under excessive force.
3) When finished making the settings, reinstall the cover and restore parts and cables
back to their original positions.
Remove top cover from
controller unit.
