TELEX LISTENING CENTERS Telex Portable Group
Listening Centers are ideal for use with reading/
language/music labs, computers, tape players, and
TV applications. Each includes a lightweight, durable
carrying case, 8 headphones, and a jackbox with 2
jacks, allowing you to create a daisy chain of listening
stations. They provide excellent sound quality with all
classroom audio equipment. Each system is covered
by a 2-year warranty. Listening centers are available
in mono or stereo versions, and with Explorer or 610
series headphones. Each jackbox includes a 4' cable
with dual connectors – 1/4" and 1/8" plugs.

stereophones incorporate a
plastic ear cushion for easy cleaning and
maximum durability. Formed from highly
durable ABS plastic, the ear cushion cre-
ates a seal and vacuum to the ear that
reduces ambient noise interference and
leakage so the sound comes through
loud and clear. The ED1TC features
an adjustable headband and a dynamic
element for a full frequency response.
Ultra-durable for everyday use, the cups and head-
band have been designed to fit a wide variety of head
sizes – from children to adults.The ED2TC features a
clip design that fits securely around the ear and elimi-
nates the need for a conventional headband. Perfect
where minimal hair and head contact is preferred.
The ED3 models are single ear clipstyle phones that

HEADPHONES come in a wide variety of
sizes and constructions. For noisy or crowd-
ed locations,
isolating designs (sealed or enclosed
back designs) are a good choice as they minimize
outside sounds. They also help prevent headphone
audio from disturbing others.
Noise cancellation
headphones use an internal amplifier to cancel outside
sounds. These phones are typically heavier and press
more firmly against the head in order to provide a
good seal.
When isolation is not important, the
open back (open-
aire or vented) models are usually more accurate and
consistent. They also cost less than an enclosed head-
phone for the same performance. Comfort is usually
higher since less pressure is required against the head
and they can be very lightweight.
Language labs and communication applications may
need headphones with a frequency response tailored
for clear voice reproduction (vs. music). And they often
need headphones designed for tough use with remov-
able/easily cleaned ear cups.
In-ear models (earbuds)
and various types of wireless headphones are also
available. When feeding multiple sets of headphones, a
headphone distribution amplifier is necessary.
