4.4.13 Attach Option
The Attach option shown in Figure 4-39 allows the “WATERLOG” software to work in a
stand-alone mode or while connected to the sensor.
To use the attach option, the sensor must be physically connected to the serial port of the PC. The
“WATERLOG” software is expecting a mouse (if used) to be on COM port 1, and the sensor to
be connected to COM port 2. The action behind the “Attach” option is a software issue that links
the PC “WATERLOG” software to the software in the “WATERLOG” sensor, so even though the
sensor may be connected to the PC by a cable, they may not be “attached”.
When attached, all changes are sent to the sensor as the changes are made on the computer.
Sensor status information will be updated every 5 seconds. The “Working” message will be
displayed in the message box on regular intervals.
If the sensor is not connected to the PC, the software is forced to the stand-alone mode.
