a. Remove the battery from the RS507/RS6000.
b. Press and hold the Restore key.
c. Install the battery onto the RS507/RS6000.
d. Keep holding the Restore key for about five seconds until a chirp is heard and the Scan LEDs flash green.
e. Scan the bar code below to place the RS507/RS6000 in HID mode.

5. Remove the battery from the RS507/RS6000.
6. Re-install the battery into the RS507/RS6000.
7. On the ET5x touch .
8. Touch .
9. Touch Bluetooth.
10. Touch SCAN FOR DEVICES. The device begins searching for discoverable Bluetooth devices in the area and
displays them under AVAILABLE DEVICES.
11. Scroll through the list and select RS507/RS6000.
The device connects to the RS507/RS6000 and Connected appears below the device name. The Bluetooth
device is added to the Bluetooth devices list and a trusted (“paired”) connection is established.
Connecting a DS3608 USB Scanner
To connect a DS3608 USB scanner, use one of the following methods:
Simple Serial Interface (SSI) mode
Human Interface Device (HID) mode.
Connecting Using Simple Serial Interface
To connect a USB scanner using SSI mode:
1. Connect the scanner cable USB connector to the USB port of a vehicle cradle. The scanner beeps.
2. Ensure that the scanner is in SSI mode. Refer to the Refer to the DS36X8 Product Reference Guide and scan
the SSI Over USB CDC barcode.
3. On the ET5X home screen, touch > .
4. Select a profile.
5. Configure additional settings.
Connecting Using HID Mode
To connect a USB scanner using HID mode:
1. Connect the scanner cable USB connector to the USB port of a vehicle cradle. The scanner beeps.
