Introduction
The Hugs
®
is part of the Hugs infant pro-
tection system. The tag is attached to the
infant using a tamper-proof strap. From
the moment of attachment, the infant is
automatically enrolled in the system, and
protected against abduction.
The Hugs tag incorporates a special sensor
to detect if the strap is cut. In addition,
attempting to remove the infant without
authorization from the protected area will
immediately cause an alarm.
With optional with BabySense
functional-
ity, the Hugs tag can also detect when it is
not securely attached to the infant.
The Hugs tag may also be used with the
optional Kisses
®
mother/infant matching
component of the Hugs system to confi rm
that the correct infant is matched with the
correct mother. The Hugs tag automati-
cally emits an audible beep to indicate an
incorrect match.
The Hugs tag is reusable, and does not
interfere with other hospital or personal
medical equipment.
The patented asymmetrical shape of the tag
ensures that it does not pinch or irritate the
babys skin, and also helps prevent it from
being kicked off, while still allowing the
ankle joint to move freely.
The tag is water proof which allows bathing
of the infant. It is also resistant to soiling
and UV light.
Note: The tag is not sterilized at the fac-
tory. You may wish to clean the tag prior
to fi rst use.
