Chapter 3 Setup
Serial
The following communication parameters need to be set up.
Menu Item Description
Handshake The handshake method is selected from the following choices.
The default setting is [XON/XOFF].
[XON/XOFF] Handshake using the XON/XOFF protocol.
[HARDWARE] Handshake using the hardware.
[ENQ-ACK] Handshake using the ENQ-ACK protocol.
[SOFTWARE] Handshake using the application program.
Communication
Speed
(Baud Rate)
The communication speed is selected from [300], [1200],
[2400], [4800], [9600] and [19200].
The default setting is [9600].
Parity The parity bit is selected from [NO], [EVEN] and [ODD].
The default setting is [EVEN].
Data Bit The data bit length is selected from [7_BIT] and [8_BIT].
The default setting is [7_BIT].
Stop Bit The stop bit length is selected from [1_BIT] and [2_BIT].
The default setting is [1_BIT].
EOP Timeout The timeout value is entered within a range of 1 to 255 seconds.
The default setting is [10 sec].
Output
Response
Sets the output response to [YES] or [NO].
This must be set [YES] if the printer requires a response when
data is transmitted from the host to the printer.
The default setting is [NO].
Job Separation Sets the job separation. The default setting is [NO].
[YES] Starts conversion processing once the command
that recognizes the end of the data is received
even midway through the file.
[NO] Performs the spooling process on the hard disk
until a timeout is issued.
If a value higher than [255] is entered for the timeout value, [255] will be set as the
value.
