Chapter 6 Ethernet Print Service (for UNIX)
Status Display (lpq Command)
This section explains how to display the status of a file specified for printing using the
lpr command.
Format
-P<Logical Printer Name>
Specify entry name of a logical printer name immediately after P (with no space). Then
the status of the print file being processed by the logical printer specified by the entry
name is displayed. If no entry name is specified for the logical printer, the status of the
file being processed by the logical printer having the entry name lp is displayed.
Examples of use
Example 1:Displaying the status of a file transferred to the logical printer [plt00h].
If no file is under processing, the following message will be displayed.
Example 2:Displaying the status of a file transferred to the logical printer [plt01h].
When transfer of the [drawd.hpgl] file to the 6030/6050 Wide Format is already
completed, the following message will be displayed.
% lpq -Pplt00h
no entries

% lpq -Pplt01h
