Chapter 4 Basic Machine Operations
Output Option
Sets the output size. The following two judgment methods are available for output image
size.
• Automatic (AUTO, OTHER, MIX, MIX2)
Determines the most suitable output size based on the input size and the size mapping
table. It also determines the paper or roll media size to use for actual printing in
accordance with the output size and the paper mapping table (or automatically.)
• Specify Size
Enables the output size of the image to be entered directly. The output size can be
selected from standard sizes and user-defined sizes.
This is usually set to [AUTO]. However, it is possible to set the paper size if the same
size of paper is to be used for all printing jobs.
The image will be enlarged or reduced for printing purposes if the input size and output
paper size are different.
Settings The settings for this function are as follows.
The image will not be enlarged or reduced even if the input size and output paper size
are different in the event that [Auto Scale] has been set to [NO] on the [Transform]
function.
Refer to the section on "Size and Media Mapping" for details on size and paper
mapping (page 103).
Menu Item Description
Paper Size This parameter can be selected from [AUTO], [OTHER], [MIX],
[MIX2] or the various paper sizes. The default setting is [AUTO].
[AUTO] The standard size priority mode. If the length of the
document exceeds the standard size, the paper is cut
to the standard size that has been increased in
multiples of whole numbers.
[OTHER] Synchronized cutting is performed on all images.
[MIX] If images that are smaller than the A0 size exceed the
standard size, the paper is cut to the standard size that
has been increased by a multiple of whole numbers.
Synchronized cutting is performed on all images that
exceed the A0 size.
[MIX2] If images that are smaller than the A0 size exceed the
standard size, synchronized cutting is performed on
all images.
The selection items for the paper size will differ based on the [Input
size] parameter set for the Media series.
• Synchronized cutting is when the length of the paper is cut to a non-standard size that
matches up with the length of the image.
• All output is carried out on roll media when [OTHER] has been selected.
• Refer to the section on "Media Series" for further details on paper size series (page
86).
