Limiting Access to Scanning
The Scan Lock options limit access to scanning by requiring a password to use the Scan function.
You can also turn off scanning.
To set the Scan Lock:
1. At the printer control panel, press the Machine Status button.
2. Touch the Tools tab.
3. Touch Admin Settings.
4. If prompted, enter the four-digit password, then touch OK.
5. Touch Secure Settings.
Note: Enable Panel Lock before setting the service locks. For more information, see Changing
the Panel Lock Password on page 225.
6. Touch Service Lock.
7. Touch an option:
• Email limits access to an email service.
• Scan to Network limits access to the Network option.
• Scan to PC limits access to the PC and WSD options.
• PC Scan limits access for TWAIN or WIA scans.
• Scan to USB limits access to the USB Memory option.
8. Touch an option:
• Enabled turns on scanning, and turns off the service lock.
• Password Locked requires a password to use scanning. Enter a new password, then
touch OK.
• Disabled turns off scanning. It also removes the Scan To button from the printer control
panel.
9. Touch OK.
