Troubleshooting
Symptom Cause Solution
Condensation inside the printer
causes partial blanks or creased
paper.
Turn on the printer and leave it on for at
least one hour remove the condensation.

Vertical blanks
The lenses are being blocked.
Clean the lenses inside of the printer. For
details, see Cleaning the LED Lenses on
page 155.
The printer is worn or damaged.

The toner cartridges are not
Xerox
®
toner cartridges.
Replace the toner cartridges with
genuine Xerox
®
toner cartridges. For
details, see Consumables on page 166.
Slanted printing
The paper guides are not
correctly adjusted to the paper
size.
Reset the paper tray guides. For details,
see Loading Paper on page 87.
Colors are blurry or there is white
area around objects
Color-to-color alignment is not
correct.
Perform an automatic color registration
adjustment. For details, see Color
Registration on page 160.
Blotchy or mottled images
The paper is too light or too thin.
Choose a different paper type at the
control panel, in the application, and in
the print driver.
The bias transfer roller voltage is
insufficient for the paper type.
Increase the bias transfer voltage for the
selected paper type. For details, see
Adjusting the Bias Transfer Roller on
page 159.
The fuser is not adjusted for the
paper type.
Adjust the fuser. For details, see
Adjusting the Fuser on page 160.
The paper is damp. Replace the paper.
