The machine cannot
receive faxes manually.
Ensure that you are hanging up the handset
before you press the Start/Enter button.
NOTE: This applies only to Xerox
WorkCentre 470cx models equipped with a
telephone connected to the EXT jack on the
bottom of the machine.
The machine will not
transmit faxes.
• Make sure that the document is loaded
face down.
• Check that the LCD display reads TX.
• You may have hung up the handset of the
external phone before you pressed the
Start/Enter
button.
• Ensure the machine you are sending to is
able to receive faxes.
You cannot poll another
machine.
The fax machine you are calling may be
using a poll code.
The document you are trying to retrieve is
not loaded into the remote machine.
Blank spaces or poor text
quality appear in
incoming faxes.
• The machine sending the fax may be
faulty.
• Line errors due to excessive noise on
phone line.
• Check your machine by making a copy.
• Try cleaning the print heads. See Clean
Head on page 1-46
