Refreshing the Toner
You can use the Toner Refresh feature to use the last of the toner in a cartridge before you replace it, or
to stir toner in a new cartridge.
To refresh the toner:
1. At the printer control panel, press the Machine Status button.
2. Touch Tools, then touch Admin Settings.
3. Touch Service Tools.
4. Touch Toner Refresh.
5. Touch OK.
The printer displays a message, then returns to the Services Home screen.
Note: Do not use this procedure repeatedly. Running the procedure repeatedly uses the toner supply
more quickly.
Initializing the NVM
Initializing the Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) restores the system settings to the factory default settings.
CAUTION: Resetting NVM to the default erases all fax numbers, email addresses, and server
addresses from the Address book.
To initialize the NVM:
1. At the printer control panel, press the Machine Status button.
2. Touch Tools, then touch Admin Settings.
3. Touch Service Tools.
4. Touch Initialize NVM, then select an option.
5. Touch Initialize.
6. Touch Yes, Initialize.
The printer displays a message, then returns to the Services Home screen.
