Changing the Fax Receive Mode
By default, the printer is set to receive faxes automatically. You can change or further define the receive
options.
To change the Receive Mode:
1. On the printer control panel, press the Fax button.
2. Press the Down Arrow button to go to Fax Default Setup and then press the OK button.
3. Arrow down to Receive Option and press OK.
4. Arrow down to Receive Mode and press OK.
5. Select from the following options:
• Auto Receive: the printer always answers an incoming call as a fax. Use this if your printer’s fax
line does not need to double as a phone line.
• Manual Receive: The line continues to ring until you start the receive fax function manually.
• DRPD (Distinctive Ring Pattern1, Pattern2, Pattern3, Pattern4): The printer determines from
the ring pattern if the call is a voice phone call or a fax.
6. Press OK.
