A-2 Setting Print Options
Override hierarchy
In the following table, the default printer driver settings (PPD defaults) are underlined.
The override hierarchy is as follows:
• A user’s printer driver settings override the Fiery ZX Setup settings.
• Settings made from the Command WorkStation, the Fiery WebSpooler, or the Fiery
Spooler override the user’s printer driver settings.

Black Overprint
Off/On
Select Off to print black text with
knockouts.
Select
On to overprint black text.
The default setting for printing reflects
the Black Overprint setting specified in
Fiery ZX Color Setup.
The Black Overprint option is supported,
provided that the Compression and Pure
Black Text/Graphics options are set to
On,
and the Combine Separations option is
set to
Off.

Brightness
85% Lightest/90% Lighter/95% Light/
100% Normal
/105% Dark/
110% Darker/115% Darkest
Select 85% for a substantially lighter
image,
115% for a substantially darker
image, or one of the options in between.
CMYK Simulation
SWOP-Coated/DIC/Euroscale/
Custom-1/Custom-2/Custom-3/
Custom-4/Custom-5/
None/Match Copy
Specify the simulation goal to be used for
the current print job.
The default setting for printing reflects
the CMYK Simulation setting specified
in Fiery ZX Color Setup.

CMYK Simulation Method
Quick/Full
Select Quick to utilize one-dimensional
transfer curves to adjust density output of
individual color channels.
Select
Full to utilize four-dimensional
transfer curves, which adjust for hue as
well as density of individual color
channels.
The default setting for printing reflects
the CMYK Simulation setting specified
in Fiery ZX Color Setup.
