Grayscale
Scans in grayscale, regardless of the color content of the original document.
Lighten/Darken (WorkCentre 5222/5225/5230)
This feature allows you to adjust the brightness level of scanned images.
NOTE: The Lighten/Darken feature for the WorkCentre 5225A/5230A is provided in
[Image Options] on the [Advanced Settings] tab.
1. Adjust the brightness level
using the scroll buttons.
2 Sided Scanning
This feature allows you to specify whether your document is single-sided or double-
sided, and how the document is to be positioned.
1. Select a preset button for the [2
Sided Scanning] feature on the
[General Settings] screen.
1 Sided
Scans one side of the document.
2 Sided
Scans both sides of the document. Select this option when the images of both sides of
the document are in the same orientation.
2 Sided - Rotate Side 2
Scans both sides of the document. Select this option when the images of both sides of
the document are in opposite orientations.
Original Type
This feature allows you to scan at optimum image quality by selecting the type of the
original document.
NOTE: For the WorkCentre 5225A/5230A, the [Original Type] feature has no effect on
the image quality in any of the following cases:
– when [Color Scanning] is set to [Color] or [Grayscale].
– when [Color Scanning] is set to [Auto Detect] and [MRC High Compression] in
[File Format] is set to [On].
