PROBLEM SOLVING TASKS
You cannot insert a cartridge
Inspect the cartridge for damage. (Refer to the “Load a cartridge
tape” section of chapter 7, “Offline printing tasks.”)
• If the cartridge is damaged, use an undamaged cartridge
instead.
• If the cartridge is undamaged but you cannot load it, call for
service.
Tape does not unload
1. If there is an error code message on the message display,
record the error code.
2. Press the Unload button.
3. Try unloading the tape again.
4. If the tape still does not unload, record the error code on
the message display, record the time, and call for service.
Unloading a cartridge after a power failure
1. Turn the tape drive on. (Refer to the “Emergency
procedures” section of chapter 7, “Offline printing tasks.”)
2. Press the Unload button.
Tape winds completely out of cartridge
Call for service. If there is an error code message on the
message display, record the code and report it to the service
representative.
