MAINTENANCE TASKS
Replacing the dry ink cartridge
CAUTION: To prevent dry ink spillage, remove the cartridge only
when directed to do so by a message on the printer control
console.
Note: The procedure for adding dry ink to 4635 and to 4635MX
LPS systems is identical. However, make sure to use only MICR
dry ink for 4635 MX systems. The dry ink cartridge of the
4635MX systems is red, and the dispenser is keyed to prevent
the installation of the wrong type of dry ink.
Follow this procedure to replace the dry ink cartridge:
1. Open the printer's right and left doors and locate the dry ink
area at the left side of the printer. There are step-by-step
instructions on the panel next to the dry ink cartridge.

2. Place a drop cloth on the floor under the dry ink area.
3. Pull the empty dry ink cartridge out until it stops.
