OFFLINE PRINTING TASKS
Unload a 1/2 inch cartridge
During normal operation:
Automatic procedure 1. The tape drive automatically rewinds and unloads the
cartridge when a job is finished.
2. The cartridge is ejected from the transport.
Manual procedure 18 track To unload the 18 track cartridge manually, follow this procedure:
1. Press the Unload button twice.

• The message display shows the tape drive condition while
the rewind and unload operation is in progress.
• An asterisk appears in the message display when the cartridge
is unloaded.
• The cartridge is ejected from the transport.
Manual procedure 18/36 track To unload the 18/36 track cartridge manually, follow this
procedure:
1. Press the Ready button to take the drive offline and then
press the Unload button.

• The message display shows the tape drive condition while
the rewind and unload operation is in progress.
