Problem Solving Tables
If you are experiencing difficulty using the DC440/432/430/426/
425/420, check the suggestions in the following tables for
problem solving advice.
Symptom Recommendation
The machine will not power ON
¾ Check the power cord installation.
¾ Check to see if the power button is in the
ON position.
¾ Check to see if the AC outlet is receiving
voltage. (Connect another appliance to
the outlet to verify the voltage.)
The machine makes a squealing noise
after it powers OFF
¾ 3 to 5 minutes after powering OFF, the
machine might make a squealing noise.
This is a normal occurrence. Various
components within the machine are still
powering OFF.
The document will not feed through the
Document Feeder
¾ Check to see if the Document Feeder is
overloaded. The Document Feeder can
hold a maximum of 50 pages.
¾ Check to see if the document is fully
inserted into the Document Feeder.
¾ Using a lint-free cloth, lightly wipe the
Platen Cushion located on the under
side of the Platen Cover.
The touch screen displays a message that
it can’t sense the size of the
document.
¾ Select Original Size on the touch screen
and enter the size.
