5.1.2 - Telnet access
Telnet allows access to the internal le systems of the Linux operating
system via a command line interface (see side panel for further
details).
Upon accessing the unit via Telnet, a section of welcome text will be
displayed explaining that any changes made via the Telnet interface
will be lost when system power is removed (as shown in the example
below).

What is Telnet?
Telnet is a communications
protocol, typically used to
enable remote access to a
networked computer via a
command line interface.
Data transferred via the Telnet
protocol is unencrypted
and, as such, is typically only
used in a low risk network
environment.
