SPEAKER EQ. Speaker EQ allows contouring of zone EQ by optimizing system settings for
the specific models of popular speakers listed. If the speakers used do not appear in the list,
select NOT LISTED.
a) Press SPEAKER EQ [hexagon 6]
b) Press the button next to the model of speakers connected to this keypad. [hexagons 6, 7,
8, 9]
c) Press NOT LISTED [hexagon 6] if the specific model is not on the list.
d) Press > [hexagon 16] to advance to the next page of speaker options.
e) Press < [hexagon 10] to return to the previous page of speaker options.
f) Press BACK [hexagon 12] to return to SPEAKER EQ.
USER EQ. User EQ allows contouring of zone EQ for speakers not listed in Speaker EQ or to
accommodate the user’s taste. User EQ is set to ‘flat’ meaning there are no adjustments to
the zone audio signal other than bass and treble settings. Hard surface rooms may need to
have the higher frequencies reduced, while ‘soft’ rooms, those with heavy upholstery may
want to boost the treble a bit. The proper setting is what sounds good to the user.
User EQ is a seven band equalizer with adjustments of +/- 4dB per band @ 125Hz, 250Hz,
500Hz, 1000Hz, 2000Hz, 4000Hz and 8000Hz.
a) Press USER EQ [hexagon 7]
b) Press ◄ [hexagon 9] or ► [hexagon 17] to select band.
c) Press ▼ [hexagon 18] or ▲ [hexagon 21] to select cut/boost.
d) Press BACK [hexagon 12] to return to USER EQ
PRESET EQ. Preset EQ allows contouring zone EQ for the characteristics of several popular
genres of music. (Jazz, Classical, Metal, Rock, Dance, Vocal)
a) Press PRESET EQ [hexagon 8]
b) Press the button for the genre of music currently selected or most typically selected in
this zone. [hexagons 6, 7, 8, 18, 20, 21]
c) Press BACK [hexagon 12] to return to PRESET EQ.
BACKLIGHT. Backlight allows selection of backlight color (green, aqua, blue, none) and fade
(timeout) duration (2-20 seconds).
a) Press BACKLIGHT [hexagon 9]
b) Select the preferred backlight color [hexagons 6, 7, 21]
c) Press OFF for no backlight. [hexagon 20]
d) Press FADE MODE ON/OFF to turn fade on/off. [hexagon 18] (OFF will leave backlight
on when zone is on.)
e) Press ◄ FADE TIME ► [hexagons 9, 17] to adjust fade time.
f) Press BACK [hexagon 12] to return to BACKLIGHT.
Press < [hexagon 10] to return to Setup 2
Press > [hexagon 16] to advance to Setup 4
Setup 4
POWER ON MODE. Power on mode sets the source that will be selected when this zone is
turned on from the keypad or remote. SILENT will have the zone turn on to Main Menu with
no source selected. LOCAL will have the zone turn on to the local source. LAST will have the
zone turn on to what ever source was selected when the zone was turned off. RADIO 1,
RADIO 2 will have the zone turn on to either Radio 1 or 2 as selected. (Wake Up Groups set
to specific sources will turn zones on to those sources unless the group is set to ‘last’.)
