Front Panel Settings
The front-panel information display will normally stay on at full brightness as long as the AVR is
ON. In some situations, such as a darkened theater room, the light from the display might be
distracting. The display can be set to fade out and turn off from 3-9 seconds after a remote or
front-panel button press. The display will illuminate full brightness when a remote or front panel
button is pressed.
To set front-panel timeout, press the remote Menu Button [oval 44] to bring the MAIN MENU to
the screen. Press the ▼/▲ Navigation Button [oval 16] so that the cursor is pointed to the
MAIN ROOM SETUP line. Press the Set Button [oval 18]. Press the ▼/▲ Navigation Button
[oval 16] so that the cursor is pointed to the ADVANCED line. Press the Set Button [oval 18].
Press the ▼/▲ Navigation Button [oval 16] so that the cursor is pointed to the FRNT PANEL
TIMEOUT line. Press the ◄/► Navigation Button [oval 16] to select the desired duration from
3s-9s (3 seconds-9 seconds). The AVR will operate at this setting until the setting is changed in
setup. NOTE: When the display has been turned off, the green power indicator in the Power
Button will remain on to show power to the AVR.
Front Panel Brightness
The AVR21EN’s front-panel displays and indicators are set at a default brightness level that is
sufficient for viewing in a normally lit room. However, you may wish to occasionally lower the
brightness of the display, or turn it off completely.
To set front-panel brightness, press the remote Menu Button [oval 44] to bring the MAIN MENU
to the screen. Press the ▼/▲ Navigation Button [oval 16] so that the cursor is pointed to the
MAIN ROOM SETUP line. Press the Set Button [oval 18]. Press the ▼/▲ Navigation Button
[oval 16] so that the cursor is pointed to the ADVANCED line. Press the Set Button [oval 18].
Press the ▼/▲ Navigation Button [oval 16] so that the cursor is pointed to the FRNT PNL
BRGHTNSS line. Press the ◄/► Navigation Button [oval 16] to select FULL, HALF or OFF. The
AVR will operate at this setting until the power is turned OFF (standby). When the AVR is
powered up the displays and indicators will illuminate at full brightness. NOTE: When the display
has been turned off, the green power indicator in the Standby/ON Button [square 2] will remain
on to show power to the AVR.
Power On Volume
The AVR has two options for Main Room turn on audio level.
OFF: With POWER ON VOLUME set to OFF, the AVR will always turn on to the volume level set
when the unit was turned OFF.
ON: With POWER ON VOLUME set to ON, the AVR will always turn on to a preset volume. The
preset level is configured in the POWER ON VOL LVL line.
To set power on volume, press the remote Menu Button [oval 44] to bring the MAIN MENU to
the screen. Press the ▼/▲ Navigation Button [oval 16] so that the cursor is pointed to the
MAIN ROOM SETUP line. Press the Set Button [oval 18]. Press the ▼/▲
Navigation Button
[oval 16] so that the cursor is pointed to the ADVANCED line. Press the Set Button [oval 18].
Press the ▼/▲ Navigation Button [oval 16] so that the cursor is pointed to the POWER ON
VOLUME line. Press the ◄/► Navigation Button [oval 16] to select OFF/ON.
If setting a Power On Volume level, press the▼/▲ Navigation Button [oval 16] to position the
cursor next to: POWER ON VOL LVL. Press the ◄/► Navigation Button [oval 16] to set the
desired level. Range: -50dB to -10dB. This setting will not change until changed in setup.
On Screen Status
This setting configures the duration for on-screen display of AVR front panel and remote button
presses.
