To set the time, press and hold the hour (H) or minute (M) button for two seconds and you will hear two short beeps and the display will continue to flash. Press the H or M button to cycle through the time. Ensure that you are setting the correct time of day (AM or PM) as indicated in the upper left hand corner of the display.

Feel free to use different shades of food coloring, dividing the mixture up into batches if you like before adding the color. You can serve the macaroons as is or, if you like, sandwich them in pairs with a dab of raspberry jam or another jam as the filling.

Mix over medium speed, with the wire whisk, until pale yellow. Add the crème fraiche and rum. Continue to mix until smooth. Fold in the flour and raisins.
