Making face joints with the Dowelling Jig
Drilling a series of holes at pitch 32 with the Dowelling Jig
The Dowelling Jig is particular-
ly well suited for making face
joints with a high number of
dowel holes.
A dowel can be drilled in every
32 mm, making the joint extre-
mely stable.
The two boards are drilled one
after the other with the same
setting, and thus fit together
perfectly.
To drill additional holes at in-
tervals of 32 mm, simply insert
a 5 mm drill bit into the last
drill hole.
The Dowelling Jig is manufac-
tured from a high quality alumi-
nium section which is also ide-
al as a stop bar for ...
... a jig saw, a pencil or a cutter.
The scale on the edge is parti-
cularly helpful.
A series of holes at pitch
32 serves to secure concealed
hinges, drawers and shelf sup-
ports.
Replace the present drill bush
with the 5 mm bush to drill the
row of holes.
Position the Dowelling Jig with
the levelled off edge flush with
the edge of the wood and fix it
with screw clamps.
