How To Use this Manual
The QuickLink Pen Operation Manual is designed to help
you get the most out of the varied and sophisticated
functions of the Pen and its accompanying Desktop
application. Each section explains one or more functions in
full, and the index at the end of the manual helps you find
particular options or steps in a procedure. The manual is
divided into the following four sections:
Part 1: Getting Started
In The QuickLink Pen (p. 9), and Learning to Scan (p. 14),
you learn how the QuickLink Pen works and follow basic
instructions for scanning a simple line of text. In Setting up
the Desktop (p. 18), you can find instructions for installing
the QuickLink Desktop software on your computer, and for
setting up communications between the Pen and your
computer. The Desktop enables you to transfer information
you have scanned into your Pen to applications on your
computer (e.g., you can transfer the Internet Links you have
scanned to your Web browser’s “Favorites” or “Bookmarks”
list), and to use your Pen to scan information directly into
Windows applications on your computer.
Part 2: The QuickLink Pen
This part of the manual begins with an Overview of the Main
Menu (p. 28). The following section, Editing Text (p. 30),
explains how to edit information you have scanned in using

The last section of this part, The Main Menu Options (p.
