The QuickLink CD-ROM
Communicating with a PDA or
Cell Phone
The QuickLink Pen can send and receive Addresses and
Notes to and from the PalmPilot (III or higher), or any other
IrOBEX-compliant PDA or cell phone using infrared
communications. This process is called beaming, and can be
initiated by selecting Beaming from the Notes and Ad-
dresses menus. For detailed instructions on using this
feature, see the descriptions for the Notes application (p. 43)
and the Addresses application (p. 53).
The
QuickLink
CD-ROM
The QuickLink CD-ROM provides the following resources:
1. An installation program for the QuickLink Desktop.
Use this program to install the Desktop or install
additional interface languages for the Desktop. See
Installing the Desktop (p. 18).
2. A library of Pen components. See Adding and
Removing Pen Components (p. 111) for information on
this feature.
3.
A mini-movie that introduces you to the QuickLink Pen.
4. Documentation: A library containing versions of this
manual in a variety of languages. The files are in pdf
format, and can be displayed on your computer screen
by the Adobe Acrobat Reader. (Available free of charge
at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/
readstep.html.)
5. A complementary copy of CharacterEyes Limited,
Ligature Ltd.’s popular omnifont optical character
recognition (OCR) desktop software. You can use
CharacterEyes with a standard document scanner to
