Term Explanation
Host application A software application on your
computer, other than the QuickLink
Desktop, to which you transfer data
from your Pen. For example, Outlook
for addresses.
Insert Mode Mode of entering characters in which
the new characters are inserted between
the existing ones at the cursor location.
Interface The language in which menu options,

messages, and on-line Help are displayed.
IrDA Infrared Data Association: An industry
standard for infrared data transfer
between digital devices that includes
the OBEX protocol and the IrComm
serial protocol
OBEX Object Exchange: A protocol for
transferring digital data between digital
