Troubleshooting
Solution:
Hold down 3 and press 1. The Pen should turn on and
display the Main Menu. To prevent this problem from
recurring:
• If you have any large Notes or Tables files stored on the
Pen, quicklink them to your computer (see p. 79) and
flush them from the Pen (see p. 84).
• Adjust the auto shut-off time selected on your Pen to a
longer time (see p. 89).
• Avoid creating large Notes or Tables files; store the data
in a number of smaller files instead.
Scanning and Display
Problem:
The Pen doesn’t scan.
Solutions:
• Make sure the Pen is turned on and is in scanning mode,
and the protective cover has been removed from the tip.
• If you previously were using the Opticard, make sure
you switched out of Opticard mode prior to returning to
normal scanning (see p. 39).
• Check the battery level (see p. 92).
Problem:
The text in the Pen display appears upside down.
Solution:
Adjust the Pen for right-handed or left-handed scanning (see
p. 90).
Problem:
The error message, “Excessive Lighting,” appears on the
Pen display when you try to scan.
