Ifthekeyboardproblemisresolved,carefullyreconnecttheexternalnumerickeypadandtheexternal
keyboard.Makesurethatyouhaveseatedtheconnectorscorrectly.
Iftheproblempersists,makesurethatthecorrectdevicedriverisinstalledbydoingthefollowing:
1.OpenControlPanel.ChangetheviewofControlPanelfromCategorytoLargeiconsorSmallicons.
2.ClickKeyboard.
3.SelecttheHardwaretab.IntheDevicePropertiespane,makesurethatyouseethismessage:
DeviceStatus:Thisdeviceisworkingproperly.
Ifkeysonthekeyboardstilldonotwork,havethecomputerserviced.
•Problem:Allorsomekeysontheexternalnumerickeypaddonotwork.
Solution:Makesurethattheexternalnumerickeypadiscorrectlyconnectedtothecomputer.
Problemswiththedisplayandmultimediadevices
Thistopicincludesthemostcommonproblemswithdisplaysandmultimediadevices,includingthe
computerdisplay,theexternalmonitor,audiodevices,andtheopticaldrive.
Computerscreenproblems
•Problem:Thescreenisblank.
Solution:Dothefollowing:
–Pressthedisplay-modeswitchingkeytobringuptheimage.
–Ifyouareusingtheacpoweradapter,orusingthebatteriesandthebattery-statusiconshowsthatthe
batteriesarenotdepleted,pressthebrightness-upkey
tomakethescreenbrighter.
–Ifyourcomputerisinsleepmode,presspowerbuttontoresumefromthesleepmode.
–Iftheproblempersists,followthesolutionforthefollowingproblem.
•Problem:Thescreenisunreadableordistorted.
Solution:Makesurethat:
–Thedisplaydevicedriverisinstalledcorrectly.
–Thescreenresolutionandcolorqualityarecorrectlyset.
–Themonitortypeiscorrect.
Tocheckthesesettings,dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickonthedesktopanddothefollowing:
–ForWindows7:ClickScreenresolution.
–ForWindows10:ClickDisplaysettings.Showthedisplayedwindowinfullscreen.Thenclick
Advanceddisplaysettings.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
2.SelecttheexternalmonitorandsetResolution.
3.Dothefollowing:
