Of all the video connections, only HDMI provides an audio signal
with the video. The other connections all require a separate
audio cable. Of these, your best quality signal will be from the
Digital Audio Out/Optical connector, followed by the Digital
Coax connector, followed by the RCA Audio Out connector.
The connector you end up using may be determined by the
equipment you are connecting to. (For example, your home
theater system may support only the Digital Audio Out/Optical
connector.)
The red and white RCA audio out connectors are so common, it
is possible you may have one of these cables already. However,
these cables provide an analog signal, so you will be missing
out on the benefits of digital quality sound.
