Setting Files for a Mobile Device

1. Do one of the following to access the Files dialog:
Step through the Pocket PC or Smartphone wizard.
See Creating a Pocket PC or Smartphone Installation on page 239.
Double-click a Mobile Device entry on the Mobile Device page and click the Files
tab.
Select this page in the Mobile Device Package Editor tool.
See About Mobile Device Package Editor on page 237.
The upper 2 list boxes show the directories and files available on your computer. The
lower 2 list boxes represent the directory structure and files that will be installed
onto the mobile device. In the lower list boxes, add the directories and files to
create on the mobile device.
The My Documents, Program Files, and Windows directories represent the
corresponding directories on the mobile device. The Device Installation Directory
that you specified on the Application Information page also appears here.
Note
This mobile device installation must contain files. Trying to compile an empty .CAB results
in a compile error.
2. Use the following buttons to set the files to be installed onto the mobile device
during installation and specify processor and platform support for each file.
Add Contents
Add the contents of the selected directory to the installation. This does not add
the directory itself, it only adds the contents. To add the directory, first create a
directory of the same name in the lower left list box, then add the contents to
that directory.
Add File
Add files to the directory selected in the lower left list box.
New Folder
Create directories that will be installed on the destination computer.
Delete Folder
Remove a directory from the installation. This doesn’t delete the folder from the
mobile device, it only removes it from this installation.
Delete File
Remove a file or operation from the installation. This doesn’t delete the file from
the mobile device, it only removes it from this installation.
•Details
Select a file and click Details to set details about the file, including how to
handles errors, replacement options, shared .DLL count, self-registration, and
platform and processor support.
