Setting Application Information for a Mobile Device

1. Do one of the following to access the Application Information dialog:
Step through the Pocket PC or Smartphone wizard.
See Creating a Pocket PC or Smartphone Installation on page 239.
Double-click a Mobile Device entry on the Mobile Device page and click the
Application Information tab.
Select this page in the Mobile Device Package Editor tool.
See About Mobile Device Package Editor on page 237.
2. Complete the dialog:
Application Name
Enter the name of the application you are installing. This name appears in the
desktop computer’s mobile device software (the Add/Remove Programs dialog,
accessible from the Microsoft ActiveSync window).
•Description
The end user sees this description in the Add/Remove Programs dialog before
installation.
Company Name
Enter the name of the company that developed the application. This further
describes the application to the end user during installation.
Name of Setup Files
During compile, several files are created, including an .INI, .INF, and one or
more .CABs. The .INF file is used to create the .CAB files. The .INI file is used to
install to the mobile device. The name you enter here determines the naming
convention of all the .CAB files and other related files. All .CAB files are named
according to the following structure: [Name of Setup Files.Processor Name.CAB].
Device Installation Directory
Select or create a directory in which to store files on the mobile device. To create
a directory, select a directory and add the name of your directory at the end.
(Example: select \Program Files and then type \MyFolder at the end.) The
directory you create appears on the Files dialog in this wizard.
