To edit the mobile device entry, select it and click Details.
After you create a mobile device entry, you might notice changes throughout Installation
Expert, such as files added on the Files page, a shortcut on the Shortcuts page, and new
custom actions added to MSI Script. Do not make changes to these items because doing
so will cause the mobile device installation to fail.
Compiling a Pocket PC or Smartphone Installation
" Professional and Enterprise Editions only.
The information you specify on the Mobile Devices page is stored in an .INF file. The .INF
file is used by Microsoft Cab Wizard (cabwiz.EXE or cabwizsp.EXE) to make the .CABs
necessary for the mobile device installation. These .CABs are then compiled into the
.MSI (unless you specified otherwise on the Media page).
During the creation of .CABs, one or more DOS windows appear briefly. These DOS
windows are for the Microsoft Cab Wizard. Separate .CABs are created for each platform
that has a specifically assigned resource.
If you specify platforms, but you do not assign any resources to the platform, a .CAB is
not created for the platform during compile. Resources must be specifically assigned to
the platform for a .CAB file to be created. Trying to compile an empty .CAB results in a
compile error.
