Optionally,yourinstallermayalsosavethebasicspeakercongurationatthis
pointtoanXMLleonyourPC’sharddisk.Doingsosaveshavingtorepeatthe
processifheeverneedstosetupanotherSC-1withthesameassociatedequip-
ment,asmighthappenifyoursystemweredamagedinanthunderstorm.This
XMLlewouldbeloadedbythe“LoadCongFromFile”buttonontheBasic
SystemDescriptionpage.
Bass Management
TheBassManagementtaballowsyoutoconguretheSC-1toderiveanappro-
priatesubwooferoutputfromapairofLeftandRightinputs.Thiscapabilityis
usedonlyinsituationswherenosurroundprocessorisavailabletoprovidethe
bassmanagementfunction,asisthecasewhenyouareusingaconventional
stereopreampinstead.
Inthescreenshotabove,wehavepreviouslysetupa6.3Phantomsystem,
intendingtousetheSC-1toprovidethreedifferent2.1channelzones.(The
numberofzonesshownonthistabvaries,dependingonhowmanyspeakers
havebeendened.)
Youmaycreateeithermonoorstereosubwooferchannelstocomplementyour
mainspeakers,uptothehardwarelimitofatotalof7.3channels.asanex-
ample,youcouldusetheSC-1asathree-waystereocrossovertocreateasingle,
triampliedstereosystem,andstillhave5.1channelsleftoverforahomethe-
ater(e.g.,a2.2zoneanda5.1zone).
DenehowyouwanttheSC-1totreattheavailablechannelsusingthepull-
downmenus.YoumustspecifywhetheryouwanttheSC-1toderiveoneortwo
subwooferchannels(None,Mono,orStereo),andyoumustspecifyboththe
lowpassandthehighpasscrossoverfrequencies(normally80Hz,althoughwe
giveyouotheroptionsin10Hzincrements).
Finally,youmustsendtheseselectionstotheSC-1byclickingthe“Committo
SC-1”buttonontherightsideofthescreen.
