12023 “EXTRA PAGE WAS FED”
WHAT HAPPENED
The Feeder was not processing a page feed, did not expect a page fed
and sensed a page fed at the Feeder Sensor.
ACTION TO TAKE
Is a page under the Feeder Sensor?
Yes.
Adjust the Feed singulator properly.
Check Feeder Setup, Pulse Feed is set to Read. This cycles the Feeder
clutch and brake on every page fed and forces a gap between sheets.
Lower the Feeder Brake On Delay Time, Eng. Value 35, to turn on the
brake faster. 20 to 80 is normal.
No.
Check the Feed Sensor adjustment for false signals, too much gain
sensing printing.
Clean the Feed Sensor reflector. Move the Feed Sensor ‘beam’ away
from shiney metal.
ANY OTHER ADJUSTMENTS
12025 “FEED TO ACCUMULATOR JAM (TIME)”
WHAT HAPPENED
A page fed through the Feed Sensor was not seen at the Accumulator
Stack Sensor within the set Feed To Accum. Time.
This process accounts for one or more pages in transit between the Feed
Sensor and the Accumulator Stack Sensor.
ACTION TO TAKE
Adjust the Feed singulator properly.
Check Feeder Setup, Pulse Feed is set to Read. This cycles the Feeder
clutch and brake on every page fed.
Increase the Feed To Accum. Time, Engin. Value 24, to allow more time.
250 to 300 is normal.
ANY OTHER ADJUSTMENTS
In Test-IO144 look for transitions of the Feeder Sensor Input and the
Accumulator Stack Sensor, 0 to 1 as the paper is manually fed through.
12026 “SPEED LOW”
WHAT HAPPENED
At power On and/or cycling, the average Feeder Speed is less than 25
inches per second.
ACTION TO TAKE
Did the motor start?
No.
Check the motor, motor controller, and the connections and wiring to
these.
Yes.
Check the ‘blue dart’ feeder speed encoder and its connections.
Go to Test-IO144 and look for transitions on the Feeder Speed Encoder
Input as the Feeder take away shaft is turned by hand.
ANY OTHER ADJUSTMENTS
Turn up the Feeder Speed dial.
Check the motor controller setups.
