Transfer Conveyor Sensors
These sensors monitor the flow of paper into and out of the transfer
conveyor. The Station 1 sensor checks to see that a folded package has
arrived telling the system there are no jams inside the folder. The Exit
sensor watches to see that a folded package has left the transfer conveyor.
There are times when the 420T system has been placed on line with an
inserter that the Exit sensor is not used and instead an Open Station sensor
is located at the drop zone on the inserter. One and only one of these
sensors are used at one time depending on the system configuration. The
system will use either the exit sensor mounted on the transfer conveyor or
the Open Station sensor mounted on the inserter.
It acts to confirm the processing of specific documents. The first station that
a document stops in the transfer conveyor is also checked by the computer
to see that a document has arrived and also when is has left the station.
