420T/438 - Barcode Data Specification 3 - 2D - Rev.3
Overview
This document outlines a simple specification using a standard 2D Data
Matrix Barcode. This simple specification provides basic security for feeding
grouped documents with a 420T/438. Group and page sequencing assure
that an accumulated group is complete, no extra pages, no missing pages
and no missing groups.
Data Matrix is a standard 2D barcode within today’s industry, is secure and
reliable with error checking on a per character.
Bar Code Description
Data Matrix. A minimum quiet zone around the barcode of .25 inches and an
element width of .015 inches.
Data Matrix is dense 2D (two dimensional) barcode. The cells are made up
of square modules. There is an X and a Y coordinate to this code. Two
adjacent sides of the square symbol are solid black lines; the other two
adjacent sides are printed as a series of equally spaced square dots.
Bar coding, sizing, print quality, tolerance ratio tolerance per ECC200 from
the ANSI/AIM BC11 and ISO/IEC 16022 specifications.

A total of 22 characters are used.
